Frugal Fridays: Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash (Lash Building Mascara/Lash Curving Mascara) £1.99! Whaaaaat?

I cannot rate this mascara highly enough. At £1.99 I wasn’t expecting much but am amazed at the results. I still can’t quite believe the results considering the price.

The packaging is fairly plain and the brushes basic. 001 XTRA BLACK (straight brush) gives a rich black colour, 001 BLACK (curved brush) i would say is a more dark grey/nearly black. Both separate lashes easily and are buildable to achieve fullness and length. Everything you want! Both the straight and curved brush achieve similar results (apart from slight colour difference).
(Excuse the different lighting!)

Above picture: right no mascara, left 001 XTRA BLACK.

And the whole look….

As with all mascaras I have tried there is some drop down after a few hours (dry specs of mascara under eyes). I haven’t yet found one that doesn’t do this on me….yet. Any suggestions would be great!!??……
I normally use a high end product costing £34 but I will be reaching for either of these, particularly the XTRA BLACK, more often. You have to try it!

Hurray for bargains!!!!

Frugal Fridays: Maybelline Baby Lips Balm And Blush £5.99

Colour 02 Flirty Pink

I have seen this product on various instagram posts and decided to give it a try. Advertised as both a lip balm and cheek blush for just £5.99, this certainly ticks the box for saving money and being thrifty. It comes in four shades: two pink shades, a peach and a glittered bronze.

Immediately attracting me was the vibrant, unusually shaped packaging. The smell of the balm is quite synthetic but not unpleasant. The size of the applicator feels big when applying to the lips but is a perfect size to apply directly to the cheek. It glides on and feels silky smooth giving a tinted, natural looking colour. It leaves a dewy finish, perfectly on trend for the upcoming spring. I wouldn’t use this as a go to lip balm for thirsty lips as it doesn’t have the nourishing, comforting feel of other lip balms (perhaps due to the synthetic feel/smell) but for a pop of colour and sheen it’s great.
I will be using this as a quick fix to add colour, glow and make fresh of my winter skin. Perfect for school runs, trips to the shops or general day to day wear.

Frugal Fridays: Sleek Makeup Eyebrow Stylist £5.99

This is the first of a series of weekly posts. These short posts are about products I have found at a nice price so you can feel and be beautiful for less!

This week it’s all about brows. Anastasia Beverly Hills have recently launched their Brow Definer which I will shortly be ordering! It comes in 10 colours and is retailed at £16 on Cult Beauty.

I cannot compare with this as I have not yet got the Brow Definer but the Eyebrow Stylist from Sleek Makeup certainly makes it into my makeup bag at £5.99!!! from Tesco superstore.

Colour: Dark

The angle shape of the pencil means you can be precise with shape using the tip or fill in by using the angled side. It’s a fairly creamy texture spreading easily  and the brush helps to groom hairs into place both before and after application.
